Neil Barofsky Testifies Before Senate on Credit Suisse’s Hidden Nazi-Era Ties
Jenner Partner Neil Barofsky made national headlines in February when he testified before the US Senate Judiciary Committee at a hearing titled “The Truth Revealed: Hidden Facts Regarding Nazis and Swiss Banks.” Neil presented findings from the ongoing investigation into Credit Suisse's concealed ties to Nazi-era clients, submitting a 75-page written statement that revealed previously unreported historic relationships.
The investigation uncovered 890 accounts potentially linked to Nazis, including 628 individuals and 262 legal entities. Neil also testified that Credit Suisse supported networks enabling Nazis to flee Germany, maintaining accounts used to finance fraudulent travel documents and transportation for Holocaust perpetrators.

Jenner Wins Landmark Trial Victory for Chance the Rapper
Jenner secured a major trial victory for Chancelor J. Bennett, known as Chance the Rapper, in a high-profile breach of contract dispute with his former manager, Patrick Corcoran. A Cook County jury delivered a complete verdict in March in Bennett’s favor, with both symbolic and precedent-setting impact on the music industry.
The verdict marks the first litigated ruling on the enforceability of oral post-termination provisions in artist/manager agreements and sends a clear message that managers cannot cut themselves into deals meant to benefit the artist. The American Lawyer’s Litigation Daily awarded a shout-out to the trial team, led by Partners Precious S. Jacobs, Wade A. Thomson, and April A. Otterberg. Precious noted the ruling is “a victory for independent artists everywhere.”
Jenner Scores 8–1 Supreme Court Victory, Resolving Nationwide Circuit Split
Partner Adam Unikowsky and Associate Jonathan J. Marshall secured an 8–1 victory in Rico v. United States, successfully arguing that courts cannot automatically extend a defendant's term of federal supervised release when she absconds from supervision. The win was secured on behalf of a pro bono client, with the Jenner team working alongside the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California. In an opinion authored by Justice Gorsuch, the Supreme Court held that courts cannot create a fugitive tolling doctrine where Congress has not authorized one, resolving a significant circuit split. With more than 109,000 individuals currently subject to federal supervised release, the decision carries broad implications for federal sentencing authority.
Jenner Wins Historic $394 Million-Plus Verdict for Michigan Utilities
Jenner secured what is believed to be the largest civil jury verdict in Michigan history on behalf of Consumers Energy and DTE Electric. A federal jury awarded $394,424,138 in damages against Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation for breaching its warranties in overhauling the Ludington Pumped Storage Plant. The jury awarded more than $383 million for contract breaches and an additional $11 million in liquidated damages, rejecting all of Toshiba's defenses and counterclaims.
